Jess E

Group Lead

Jess grew up in the red sands and vermillion cliffs of Southern Utah, riding four wheelers and catching horny toad lizards. Spending time with family camping in the East Zion area, hiking, swimming, and biking with the Dixie National Forest as her backyard. In her adolescence Jess snowboarded at Brian Head Resort, and rock climbed in Zion National Park. As Jess learned new outdoor skills, a true appreciation and respect for natural spaces was instilled.

At Southern Utah University, Jess pursued a degree in Studio Arts with an emphasis in Ceramics. After college, Jess began to chase storms and move where she could fulfill her snowboarding passion. Exploring places such as Whitefish Montana, Grand Targhee in Idaho, and Taos, New Mexico. For six years in Taos, she enjoyed floating the Rio Grande and shredding the gnar at Taos Ski Valley. Jess eventually found herself back in Southern Utah to be closer to family and was introduced to wilderness therapy.

Jess feels most authentic when she is in nature. She believes that in nature individuals of all walks of life can develop that same authenticity and pursue personal growth. Jess feels that while outside we can open our minds to reflection, and learn to become content with ourselves.
