Tyler grew up in the suburbs of southwest Ohio, spending lots of time playing video games and hanging out at the neighborhood pool with friends. Family vacations were often spent exploring the Great Smoky Mountains and Hocking Hills, which is close to where he would later attend Ohio University, earning a bachelor's degree in Conservation and Wildlife Biology. While spending time in the hills of Appalachia, Tyler started cultivating a passion for the outdoors and the opportunities it offers.

Combining his desire to immerse himself in the outdoors and the wanderlust caught during a backpacking trip through Europe, Tyler converted a van with his Dad and set out on his own to explore the western United States for the first time. During his travels he began working seasonal jobs in the outdoor industry at adventure summer camps in Colorado and outdoor schools in Oregon.

Tyler quickly fell in love with the diverse environments that the west has to offer, as well as sports such as rock climbing and mountain biking, and has found great personal value in the opportunities for adventure, growth, and healing that can be found here. Through wilderness therapy Tyler hopes to share these opportunities and experiences with others, and to continue growing both personally and professionally.
